This publication documents the exhibition Libre ‹ échange. Extraits de la collection de l’UQAM, curated by Marie-Eve Beaupré. The exhibition was conceived to present a number of the Galerie’s new acquisitions in varying arrangements. The disappearances and permutations produced by these variations in the display of works provided visitors with different perceptions of them. In this way, issues of identity and self-representation, the dualities at play between collective and individual spaces, and narrative strategies such as discontinuity and breaking up were addressed.
