In the series Sans titreWitness, and Archeology of an Eye, Tomas seeks to demonstrate the limits of the drawing as a discipline by scrambling frames of reference. He proceeds through a biomechanical approach where he finds shapes projected in an artificially lit room and transfers them graphically onto paper, then photographs them. It is from this perspective that Tomas derives his notion of “transduction,” in which an image is constructed by displacing it from one medium to another.
