October 13, 1989 - November 19, 1989

Opening: October 12, 1989, 8:00 pm

From October 13 to November 19, 1989, the Galerie de l’UQAM is presenting an exhibition of religious art by sculptor Olindo Gratton. This artist, who died in 1941, is relatively unknown to the general public, although his work is encountered on a daily basis.

This exhibition, in preparation for more than three years, will be the first dedicated to Gratton since the posthumous exhibition in 1942 presented by the Petit Séminaire in Sainte Thérèse where the sculptor is from. In Montreal, the last exhibition on Gratton goes back to 1918, when Father Olivier Maurault, who would later become rector of the University of Montreal, granted him a special exhibition at the Saint-Sulpice library.
