Mel Boyaner. Works on Paper

The Galerie de l’UQAM presents an exhibition of works on paper by Mel Boyaner, professor in the fine arts department of the University since 1969. It includes 17 paintings and 7 engravings, one of which is very large (45 “x 91”).

The artist, whose drawings, paintings and lithographs have been exhibited across Canada, but also in England, Poland and Italy, says of his work: “My main concern is the interplay between form and colour. From a drawing, I develop my pictorial concept by creating tensions between space, form and colour; often I dismiss the obvious.”
