This bilingual monographic publication presents the Guerrilla Girls retrospective exhibition shown at the Galerie de l’UQAM as part of the commemorative events on the 20th anniversary of the École Polytechnique de Montréal massacre. On that day, a man who claimed to be fighting feminism opened fire on twenty-eight people, killing fourteen women. In conjunction with the commemorative events, the Guerrilla Girls have created Troubler le repos / Disturbing the Peace, a new poster on the theme of violence against women and misogyny in society. The catalogue shows in colourful pages that new poster commissioned for the event and more than twenty virulent posters realized since the mid-eighties by the collective. This book is the fourth in a series of small, affordable publications produced by the Galerie de l’UQAM.
