As part of Montreal's first International Festival of Puppetry

Coordination: Germain Boisvert

May 28, 1986 - June 15, 1986

Opening: May 27, 1986, 8:00 pm

From May 28 to June 15, 1986, the Galerie de l’UQAM presents a retrospective of the puppets that shaped the history of theater and television.

Puppetry in the theater

This section of the Gallery allows the public to discover the creativity of the many puppet theater companies in Quebec. 5 or 6 puppets from the same show are exhibited with their accessories and decorative elements.

Puppetry and the television

From Pépinot and Capucine to Pruneau and Cannelle, since the introduction of television in people’s homes, puppets have inhabited the small screen in their own way.
