Galerie de l’UQAM presents two exhibitions during the 2025 edition of Nuit blanche in Montreal. This situation, an emblematic work by Tino Sehgal, presented for the first time in 2007 and acquired by the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) in 2011. Resembling a contemporary salon, This situation allows for open discussions on a range of philosophical concepts and engages visitors in a critical reflection on today’s world. At the same time, Marion Schneider, who is completing their master’s degree in visual and media arts at UQAM, presents En frappant le fond de l’eau avec un bâton, on peut faire du feu sur l’eau, a hacktivist exhibition exploring interactive digital art from a queer and ecological perspective.

Mediators will be in the gallery space to present the works on display and to accompany visitors in their thoughts.
