On January 27, Galerie de l’UQAM and the Consulat général de France à Québec will present a new Montréal edition of La nuit des idées (Night of Ideas), with a variety of inspiring guests ready to discuss and reflect on major issues of our time.
The discussions organized by Galerie de l’UQAM will be broadcasted on January 27, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm, on the Facebook page of Galerie de l’UQAM and the Facebook page of the Consulat général de France à Québec, and will then be available on Galerie de l’UQAM’s website.
Each year, La nuit des idées invites participating cultural venues to imagine their programming around a single theme chosen to resonate in many fields and to offer the most varied declinations. This year’s theme, (Re)construire ensemble, allows for a great diversity of reflections that are explored throughout the event. It questions our relationship to the world, to territories and to communities, but also raises the need to explore alternatives in our ways of living and apprehending the future. Whether they are economic, political, social, environmental or even creative, the challenges raised during La nuit des Idées in Quebec will allow everyone to consider their contribution to our common (re)building. In response to the global theme, the curator and director of the Galerie de l’UQAM, Louise Déry, has invited personalities from the scientific and artistic worlds to open up their thinking, reposition their research and reinvent their practice at the crossroads of several disciplines in order to think and communicate the world differently.
Hosted by writer, editor and journalist Marie-Andrée Lamontagne, the event is organized around two discussions. The first conversation will bring together pediatric microbiologist-infectiologist and epidemiologist Caroline Quach-Thanh (Montreal) and medical doctor, immunologist and biology researcher Jean Claude Ameisen (Paris). The event will continue with an exchange between artists Maryse Goudreau (Escuminac) and Pierre Baumann (Bordeaux) and museologist Marie-Charlotte Franco (Montreal).
You can watch the recordings of these two conversations via our Vimeo account as of January 27, 2022:
