[More information] Careful and critical observation of what makes images in our daily life is one of the foundations Gwenaël Bélanger’s work. Through photographic processes, he plays on the limits of our perception of reality and its gray areas. Carré gris refers to a recurring theme in the artist’s work, the photographic capture of falling objects. This work is a certain mise en abyme, consisting of a set of shots by the artist at the Galerie de l'UQAM, as part of a project to integrate a work of art in the windows overlooking Berri street. Thus, Carré gris is a triptych representing three mirrors falling and bursting in the central space of the gallery.
