This first major monograph on the work of Peter Gnass was produced to coincide with an exhibition at the Galerie de l’UQAM and the Musée régional de Rimouski in 2004 and 2005. Six authors were invited to reflect upon an aspect of the artist’s work since the 1960s. Louise Déry, co-curator of the exhibition with Jocelyne Fortin, analyzes a new installation, C for CUT. Louise Poissant, Jocelyne Fortin and Marcel Saint-Pierre are attracted to three series in Gnass’ output: the Topologs, the Progressions and the Projections. Patrice Loubier takes up Gnass’ furtive practices and Eve-Lyne Beaudry discusses his involvement with copyright issues. The catalogue also comes with a digital photograph, printed separately, of the installation C for CUT, signed by Peter Gnass. This publication won an award in the 2005 Grafika competition.
