This book contains 87 recto-verso reproductions of drawings of vultures by Rober Racine. There are also two essays: a biographical, philosophical and poetic meditation by the artist on the development of the vulture motif in his work; and an essay by Louise Déry that situates the place of these drawings within Racine’s visual and literary corpus. This publication of the Galerie de l’UQAM is a companion piece to the eponymous travelling exhibition (2006) whose venues included the Site Odéon °5 (Paris), the Musée d’art moderne et d’art contemporain (Nice), the Nube di Oort (Rome) and the Gallery of the Canadian Embassy (Tokyo). This publication won an award in the 2007 Grafika competition.
